Since 1984, the BMW M5 has been the performance sedan that can satisfy the most demanding drivers’ needs for performance in a luxurious, versatile four-door vehicle. In its 6th generation, the 2018 M5 receives an M-specific all-wheel-drive system called the M xDrive and many new features that once again put it ahead of the competition.
Greater performance for the 2018 BMW M5
Under the hood of the all-new BMW M5, you will find the mighty 4.4-liter V8 engine featuring M TwinPower Turbo technology. This powerplant can output 600 hp and 553 lb-ft, a 40 hp and 53 lb-ft of torque increase compared to the last version. The new 8-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic sends all the power to the wheels.
The result: outstanding performance and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 3.2 seconds. When the driver starts the engine, the all-new BMW M5 is in all-wheel-drive mode (4WD) with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) enabled. Then, it is possible to navigate through the drive modes, which includes a rear-wheel-drive mode with no DSC. To top it off, drivers can select the 2WD mode, to enjoy traditional rear-wheel drive characteristics.
Outside, the 2018 BMW M5 features a newly designed front bumper trim with large air intakes and a carved aluminum hood. The roof of the 2018 M5 is made from extremely lightweight, high-strength carbon fiber-reinforced plastic. Moreover, the M5 has a redesigned rear diffuser, side skirts and M rear spoiler. M-Specific design sideview mirrors complete the racing-like looks of this new M5.
Of course, a high performance sedan requires high performance pneumatic components, and the 2018 M5 is fitted standard with 275/40 R 19 at the front and 285/40 R 19 at the rear. These tires have been specially homologated for the M5.
A slick and sporty interior for the 2018 BMW M5
One of the M5’s best features is the balance between optimal versatility and incredible power and driving dynamics. The interior of the 2018 BMW offers space for up to four passengers, a large trunk and excellent ride comfort. All the driving dynamic systems can be accessed using the central touchscreen display or commands on the center console or M sports steering wheel.
The interior is geared with M Multifunction seats with seat heating and electric adjustment for seat depth and maximum support. For the first time, drivers can enjoy the practical driver assistance systems featured in the new BMW 5 Series.
The 2018 BMW M5 impresses once again by pushing the boundaries of performance while offering great convenience, comfort and technology in the cabin. Come and see it today!
