Setup Card
Easy to set up.
With the BMW Digital Key Setup Card, simply hold the card to your smartphone or scan the QR code on the back and follow the instructions. Create a profile, approve it with the card, and complete the setup process in your BMW.

Useful when a physical key needs to be handed over.
The BMW Service Card comes deactivated with the vehicle and can be activated when required. It is designed for situations such as scheduled service appointments, valet parking or breakdown assistance, where a physical key may need to be handed over.

Two digital key experiences.
BMW Digital Key and BMW Digital Key Plus are both designed to make access more convenient, but available features differ by vehicle and device compatibility.
BMW Digital Key.
Compatible mobile devices become a BMW key. Unlock and start your BMW with your smartphone or smartwatch and share the key with up to five people.
Some functions may require holding the mobile device near the vehicle's door handle or placing the device in the smartphone tray.
BMW Digital Key Plus.
On compatible vehicles and devices, BMW Digital Key Plus can enable automatic recognition when your mobile device approaches the vehicle.
All functions shown are only fully available with BMW Digital Key Plus and supported equipment.

What do I need to use BMW Digital Key Plus?
You need a supported BMW model, a compatible mobile device and availability in your market. You can also check availability in the My BMW App or contact Elite BMW for compatibility help.
How secure is BMW Digital Key Plus?
The digital key is stored securely on the secure element of your smartphone or smartwatch. NFC and UWB technology can be used to establish immediate proximity between sender and receiver in a tamper-resistant way.
What happens if my smartphone needs to be charged?
With the right settings, you may still be able to unlock and start your BMW for several hours after your device has switched off. Hold the mobile device to the outside door handle and follow the instructions on the display.
Do I need an internet connection?
An internet connection is required for setup. Once the digital key is installed on your device, a connection is no longer required for locking, unlocking or starting the vehicle.
What is the Setup Card?
The Setup Card is designed to make BMW Digital Key Plus setup easier. Hold the card to your device or scan the QR code on the back and follow the instructions. Store the card safely outside the vehicle after setup.
Do I still get a physical key?
Yes. You will still receive a physical key, even if your BMW is equipped with BMW Digital Key Plus, Setup Card and Service Card.
