HERE IS THE 2018 BMW X2

The BMW SUV range is already one of the most comprehensive in the automotive industry, but that is not enough for the German automaker.

Indeed, BMW is preparing to launch a new SUV soon in Canada, the 2018 BMW X2. It will slot between the BMW X1 and BMW X3 which have both been redesigned recently. With the new BMW X2, the manufacturer is tackling a new niche that hasn’t been created just yet.

2018 BMW X2: A sub-compact SUV coupe with an impressive style

The BMW X2 is an SUV coupe like the BMW X4 or the BMW X6. That said, it will be the most affordable coupe utility model from BMW when it arrives on the market. Its square and aggressive lines will allow the X2 to really stand out on the road and its owner to turn heads along the way.

That said, the X2 is also a utility vehicle with generous cargo space and plenty of room for passengers. In terms of dimensions, it is a little smaller than the BMW X1, but it does not require too much compromise in terms of interior space. According to BMW, the X2 will offer 611 liters of cargo space in the trunk with all seats in place, and 1,418 liters with the rear seat lowered.

A powerful engine for the new 2018 BMW X2

The 2018 BMW X2 will arrive in Canada with a single engine initially. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine in question develops 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This engine will power the entry-level version, but we expect other engines including the six-cylinder biturbo will be added to the X2 family eventually.

XDrive all-wheel drive will be standard just like an eight-speed automatic. It will be possible to adjust the handling of the X2 with different driving modes including Comfort and Sport modes.

Moreover, an M Sport X package will be available with 19-inch wheels, M Sport suspension and steering wheel-mounted shift paddles. Dynamic colors like Galvanic Gold will also be on the menu.
