TOY MOUNTAIN 2022: Helping Children in Need this Holiday SeasonNov 23rd, 2022
CTV AND MOVE 100’S TOY MOUNTAIN 2022
Each year, Toy Mountain and the Salvation Army provide toys to over 25,000 children, and this year our goal is to leave no child in Ottawa without a gift to open on Christmas morning.
We are encouraging everyone to donate in whatever way you are able and are proud to continue the tradition of helping our partners at The Salvation Army bring smiles to the faces of children and teens on Christmas morning.
Taking part has been made easy! You can simply make an online donation, or you may donate a new, unwrapped toy at one of our drop-off locations and you will help make this Christmas a special one for girls and boys in need across the community.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
As an individual:
- Donate HERE at Elite BMW: Bring a new, unwrapped toy to Elite BMW by December 15th and receive 10% off your parts and labour in our Service Department! (up to $100 in cash value). In addition, all in stock Lifestyle apparel and Accessories marked down 30-50% off for the month of December.
- Donate online: Online donations can be made here to help us buy toys in bulk and get the most bang for your buck.
- Donate a toy: Simply purchase and donate a toy and place it (unwrapped) in an official Toy Mountain donation bin before Friday, December 15th. We distribute toys to children aged 0-12. Drop-off locations here.
- Volunteer: To volunteer at the Toy Mountain warehouse by sorting toys, please email Kristine Farnel.
WHAT KIND OF TOY SHOULD I BRING?
We are grateful for all toys that are donated, but please do not forget the tweens, teens and babies. We often fall short on gifts for these age groups so please consider these children when selecting a toy to donate. Here are some ideas of appropriate items for tweens and teens.
Tweens and teens (10 and up): curling irons, digital music players, hair dryers, hair kits, makeup kits, jewelry, electronics, books, hoodies, sporting goods, backpacks, school supplies, board games, scarves, gloves and gift cards.
Also, by making a financial donation you will allow us to purchase gifts for age groups as needed.
HOW TO RECEIVE TOYS
If you need toys for your children, please call 2-1-1. They will be able to direct you to one of the city’s Community Resource Centres or they can tell you the best place for you to register as there are many organizations that will register on your behalf.
